Total Productive Maintenance Kaizen

TO SCHEDULE: Contact NMEP (Renee Held) at 402-564-0105 or email rheld@mail.unomaha.edu

For the certified lean practitioner, this workshop will provide you with valuable experience in Kaizen facilitation, team skills, project scopes, and implementation. Some implementers have never participated in a Kaizen before they try to lead one. This workshop will give them the opportunity to experience a hands-on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Kaizen event.

Two teams and two TPM Kaizen events during the week will double your learning opportunity--as you will participate on one team and observe the other.

One team will apply the Kaizen process and TPM tools to a selected production area of a manufacturing process. This Kaizen will also reinforce and utilize the foundation tools, such as 5S, Standardized Work, Visual, POUS, Teamwork, and team processes.

A second Kaizen team, focusing on one of the six equipment losses, breakdowns, will improve information flow and reduce waste to reduce lost time due to breakdowns.

Gain hands-on experience in

1) Structuring Kaizen events implemented in one week focusing on business needs and problems that are best improved through sound application of TPM tools.
2) Enhancing knowledge in successful implementation of TPM with teams.
3) Enhanced team skills and process tools for working with teams.
4) Determining OEE in a real world environment.
5) Developing and implanting action plans to enhance OEE.
