Cancellations

Participant Cancels Enrollment
To receive a full refund and avoid a 25% fee, you must give notice of cancellation or transfer two (2) business days prior to workshop date. Workshops with a published price greater than $495 require a ten (10) business day cancellation or transfer notice. Confirmed registrants who do not attend their workshop are liable for the entire registration fee. Substitutions may be made at anytime. Please note: Nonpayment does not constitute cancellation. NBDC Cancels Workshop
All NBDC workshops (including evenings and Saturdays) are canceled when the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) closes due to severe weather conditions. Check UNO's weather announcements, call 402-554-2255, or listen to KVNO Classical 90.7 FM. NBDC staff will contact you for rescheduling. If ONLY Omaha Public Schools close and UNO still remains open, NBDC workshops will begin at 9 a.m. Please be sure when enrolling, to provide a home or cell phone number so you can be contacted at home if needed

If a workshop is canceled due to very low enrollment, you will be notified two business days prior to the scheduled start and encouraged to transfer to the next available session.

CEUs

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) recognize and record the achievement of individuals who satisfactorily participate in the University's noncredit programs. For every 10 hours of workshops you will earn one CEU. To receive CEUs, contact UNO's NBDC customer services prior to workshop at 402-554-2900 or email Customer Service

Certificates

Career certificate programs are a series of workshops focused on strengthening special skills. These programs do not require homework or testing. You will receive a Certificate of Completion at end of each individual workshop. Upon completion of all required workshops, you will receive a Certificate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Business Administration. There is no charge for the processing and mailing of all completed certificates. There is a $10 processing fee for each re-printed certificate.We strongly advise that you save/file these documented certificates for future reference.

Computer Lab Rental

NBDC rents internet-ready computer labs to organizations for employee training programs. The instructor workstation has a physical computer (Pentium i5 Core, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD), a hookup for a laptop, a document camera, Cox Cable TV, and a Blue Ray DVD Player. All of these inputs can be displayed on a single projection screen. The lab has 12 student workstations. NBDC also rents a 24-seat meeting/classroom.

Confirmation of Workshop Enrollment

Confirmation will be sent by email the first business day following your enrollment. You will also be emailed a confirmation reminder four business days prior to the start of your workshop.

Credit Card Questions

Your enrollment information is sent to PayPal via a secured Web server.

Discounts

10% for Four or More. Enroll in four or more workshops at one time (for one or more participants) and receive a 10% discount. Full payment must be made at time of enrollment to receive the discount. Discounts do not apply to online classes or PMP Exam Prep.

Group Discounts. NBDC offers special discounts to companies who request onsite consulting. Call 402-554-4095 or email Customer Service for more information.

Invoices/Billing

Only employees of companies with an NBDC billing agreement (UP and FNB) can be invoiced. All other registrants must pay by credit card (or fax a purchase order to 402-554-3473 attn: Chris). A receipt will be emailed after your card has been processed.

Military

All of UNO's NBDC workshops award a certificate of completion. Many commands will approve tuition assistance for promotion points, career advancement and morale purposes. Onsite Consulting

The University of Nebraska at Omaha's NBDC will create a program for your company's special needs and deliver workshops at the time and place of your choice. Parking

Free parking lot space is available in Mammel Hall Lot #15. The access code to lift the gate will be issued in your confirmation email.

Paying for Workshops

Unless your company has a billing agreement with NBDC (FNB and UP), you must use a valid credit card when enrolling online. Questions? Call 402-554-2900 or email Customer Service.

Online enrollment information is sent to a customer service representative via a secured Web server. All credit card payments go through PayPal.

Prerequisites

UNO's NBDC wants you to feel comfortable with the workshop material. Your success in a workshop may depend on prior knowledge of material and experience. Prerequisites are listed with workshop descriptions.

Refunds

You must give two business days notice of enrollment cancellation. You may transfer your enrollment to the next scheduled workshop or receive a full refund. Workshops with a published price greater than $495 require ten business days cancellation notice, or a cancellation fee of 25% of the published workshop price will be assessed. Returned Check Policy

A $30 charge will be assessed for each check returned to UNO's NBDC.

Skill Assessments

Are you concerned whether you have the necessary background skills to successfully complete a workshop? Take an assessment before enrolling.

Transcripts

You may receive a copy of your UNO NBDC participant transcript via email or request that transcripts be mailed to other universities. There is a $10 processing fee for each transcript. Payment must be received before transcript is processed.

These non-credit program records may be released to you from May 2001 to present. For transcript records released prior to May 2001, we will charge $50 prior to the search with no guarantee that records will be found. All transcripts will be emailed. For complete information.

Tuition Assistance

  • Have you been laid off and are unlikely to return to the same type of job?
  • Have you been laid off due to a permanent closure or downsizing?
  • Were you self-employed but are now unemployed?
  • Were you a homemaker who has lost your primary source of income?

You may be eligible to receive tuition assistance for job training. Please contact the Workforce Development Office nearest you to find out more about the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Dislocated Worker program and how it can help you get the skills you need.

Virtual Classes

Take a class entirely over the internet that features real-time interaction with an NBDC instructor and other students. Practical hands-on exercises with the software will give you the opportunity to practice new skills in a "safe" environment and share ideas with students from different companies.
