Adanced Lean Manufacturing Implementation

This two-day continuous improvement workshop provides advanced coverage in the practical implementation of Lean enterprise culture. It is exclusively for Lean manufacturing practitioners who have earned the Lean Enterprise Certificate or Endorsement and who want to more effectively bridge the gap between theory and practice.

This workshop will cover the following: Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Theory of Constraints, Six Sigma, Lean Cultures and Kaizen.

Pre-requisite: Lean Enterprise Certification or Endorsement

DAY ONE (8 am-4:30 pm)

Continuous Improvement Kaizen

  • How to structure, organize and facilitate Lean Teams
  • Designing a process for Kaizen that consistently defines and solves problems through team work.
  • Tools to implement and sustain improvements
Theory of Constraints
  • How to discover the constraint and integrate the TOC approach with Lean principles
  • Strengths and weaknesses of this approach

DAY ONE, EVENING SESSIONS (6-8 pm)

Project Presentations

  • Actual Kaizen and Lean implementations from various organizations and business sectors.
  • Roundtable discussion, experience sharing and questions and answers

DAY TWO (8 am-4 pm)

Total Productive Maintenance

  • Definition of TPM and the sources of the six major equipment losses
  • Calculating Operating Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Maximizing OEE: case studies
  • Low cost/No cost solutions
  • Visuals and ideas

Lean Sigma

  • Definition
  • Bridging the imaginary gap between Six Sigma and Lean
  • Characteristics of a Lean Sigma company
