Lean Enterprise Certification

COMMENTS FROM PARTICIPANTS after completing NMEP Lean Training workshops:

Best training I have ever had in Lean, I really liked and enjoyed. I have had other Lean training and simulations, but found these other classes boring.

I had no idea what I was getting into and now I have a better idea.

It was interesting to see the pull system- this is better than reading about it.

It was interesting to see the team building as I worked through the process.

On changeovers, I have a better understanding of how a change-over affects the process.

I found it is the process not the people--when moved a person from Non-value added to Value-added. I thought it wouldn't do as well and have people that aren't doing good at work. Maybe it is the process they are doing is the problem.

I learned with the right process, Lean will work.

With Lean, no one got laid off, just redeployed.

On Point of Use Storage- This is very big; we have done some of this at our company and not using large racks. I was shocked at how well the kanban/pull system worked.

I need to go back and evaluate what we consider as Non-value added.

I was surprised how small changes make a big difference.

I was amazed at how quickly a group can adapt and learn to make improvements.

I found change isn't always favorable, but these end results were unbelievable.

I saw the overall control improved and no one was frustrated.

I liked the equal opportunities to make change, the process owners decided and management was also involved in the change process.

Everyone shared in the stress- I found I didn't want to let the others down.

The old way in the simulation, everyone was making all that they could; I found by making less in a batch I was able to make more.

At first I was skeptical and by the end I realized by redirecting manpower we became more effective.

I struggled at first with the chaos. In the last run, we focused and improved the communication; we went from control to visual signals.

Visual information is critical--makes it easier to use, reading instructions are not used.

I was amazed by the visuals and how effective they are.

I was surprised how quickly this came about once we realized what was needed.

I found by putting the focus on quality at the source, and once standard work in place, quality was building and achieved.

Working in a team is more productive vs. as an individual.

One doesn't have to spend money on capital to eliminate wastes.

By expanding the use of lean tools and processes to open the mind to problem solving and to help make teams more effective.

The training made me more aware of self-imposed barriers and how they affect problem solving; they can block or prevent problem solving.
