Managing the Process

 Successful Project Management
Learn techniques for planning, implementing, and completing projects to produce desired results on time and within budget. You will use project management tools to set and achieve measurable objectives, estimate project time and costs, determine project scope, manage resource requirements, and control project results. Learn by doing as you actually plan, execute and control a project simulation.

 IT Project Management
Strengthen your IT project management skills through current information, case studies and project simulations. You will step through project management principles and the steps in closing a project. You will receive templates to use in creating project management processes back at the office.

Agile Project Management Best Practices
Learn Agile methodologies to manage software projects. You'll explore techniques that use team collaboration to timebox versions in the software development cycle, delivering frequent iterations that are planned incrementally. Applying Agile methods to projects increases your business's profitability by keeping software projects under control.

 Communicating Projects Visually
People understand and remember better if information is presented visually. Yet most project information continues to be communicated verbally or in writing. In this workshop, you will discover the importance of visualizing project information and how to go beyond the standard Gantt chart to present it.

 Core Principles for Business Analysis
Begin with the basics of business analysis, understanding its importance in the enterprise and the Business Analyst’s role in it. Students will develop feasibility studies and write a Business Case.  Learn to develop a solution’s scope and vision.

Engaging the People

 Becoming an Effective Leader

Learn how to lead (and follow) 360 degrees. With instructor's support and coaching, you can apply new skills and techniques in your workplace projects.

 Leading Project Teams
Learn how to develop a high-performing team through recognizing and addressing the individual needs of members as well as collective needs of the group. Discover how a project/team leader's role changes as the team grows.

 Running Productive Meetings
It's been said that more important decisions are made in meetings than anywhere else. You may find that hard to believe - in view of the way most meetings are planned and conducted. Participants will actually run a meeting in the class.

 Introduction to Negotiation
Learn and develop polished, effective, professional techniques that influence negotiation outcomes in a supportive, non-threatening setting. Acquire skills to determine which negotiating techniques are appropriate for given people and situations.

Measuring the Progress

 Process Mapping for Business Improvement
Use a wide range of mapping tools and techniques to find out how your business really works and where crucial improvements are needed.

 Requirements Elicitation and Methods
Focus on how to define functions, attributes, constraints, preferences, and expectations from clients. Techniques to gather the requirements will start with Brainstorming and conclude with Reverse Engineering, with participants practicing at least five of the methods. This class is BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) aligned.

Financial Considerations for Business Decisions
Learn how to read and interpret financial statements (income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets), create cash and capital budgets, and communicate your business ideas through the appropriate financial language.

Mastering the Technology

Microsoft Project
MS Project has millions of users but most don’t unlock the potential of this sophisticated software. Each student works on their own PC to gain the skills and techniques to use this powerful software to their advantage.

Microsoft Visio
Learn how to use Visio to visual represent pieces of your projects. The course is filled with interactive exercises that help ensure student success.
