OOAD Overview for Managers

Audience: This course is intended for IT managers.

Prerequisite: Familiarity with software development in general is helpful.

Summary:
Learn the fundamentals of object-oriented techniques from requirements gathering to implementation. Students learn the fundamentals of OOAD. Requirements gathering process is described as well as the various UML diagrams used in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Finally Rational Unified Process (RUP), a formalized software development process is discussed that is commonly used to develop OOAD-based software. After completing this course, the student should be able to discuss OOAD concepts and decipher UML diagrams. Students will understand the various requirements gathering processes and be able to establish a software development methodology for in-house development.
